The air-cooled Guardian Series is Generac’s home standby line, from 10kW to 28kW. It sits outside on a pad, starts on its own the moment the power goes out, and keeps the house warm through a winter outage. Larger homes and longer outages call for liquid-cooled Generac models.
From Essentials to the Whole House
A smaller unit keeps the furnace, refrigerator, well pump and lights going. A larger one, or a mid-size unit with load management, runs the whole house.

Guardian units from 10kW to 26kW share one 48 by 25 by 29 inch enclosure, and a cold-weather kit keeps the battery and oil from freezing so it starts on the coldest night.
Neighbor-Friendly and Hands-Free
The weekly exercise runs at low speed in Quiet-Test mode, about 55 to 57 dB(A), and the unit draws on natural gas or propane, so nobody refuels it in a storm.
