Service Memberships
Generator Service Memberships
Every membership puts your generator on our maintenance scheduling route, so there is no need to call in each year, and every visit ends with a full diagnostic report showing the generator is in proper working order. Members also get priority scheduling and discounted repairs.
Gold Membership, $1,689
Preventative maintenance on our scheduling route, with a full diagnostic report after every visit. The full list of what Gold includes is to be confirmed with Midwest.
Platinum Membership, $1,989
Our most popular membership, and it exceeds all factory requirements: three years of maintenance, prepaid, with generator monitoring for the full term and a battery replacement in the third year.
Premium Plus Membership, $2,289
Preventative maintenance on our scheduling route, with a full diagnostic report after every visit. What Premium Plus adds over Platinum is to be confirmed with Midwest.
Prices as published on Midwest’s Maintenance Membership page; Platinum is a prepaid three-year membership. Gold and Premium Plus terms and inclusions to be confirmed with Midwest before publishing. A service membership is a service agreement, not an insurance policy or extended warranty.
Every manufacturer and dealer warranty requires maintenance every year. The Power Plus Warranty asks that we perform it, so the upkeep is done right and your investment stays protected. Skip a year, or have someone else do the service, and the coverage lapses.
Why Midwest
Why Trust Midwest with Your Generator Service?
For more than 20 years Midwest has kept backup power running across the Upper Midwest, and the team that installs your generator is the team that maintains it.
Factory-Trained Technicians
Every service visit is done by Midwest's own technicians, trained in depth on Generac and the other brands we carry, never subcontractors or third parties. The Power Plus Warranty asks that we perform the upkeep, so it is done right.
Parts on Our Vans
We keep a stocked parts inventory and a specialized fleet of service vans, so a problem found at a maintenance visit is more often fixed in the same visit.
24/7 Support
If a check finds a problem or your generator fails during an outage, support is available 24/7 for a rapid response. Call our Service line at 612-284-1550.
What's Included
What's Included in Your Annual Generator Service?
At each annual service, our factory-trained technician works through the generator's critical systems and confirms it is ready for the next outage.
Mobile Link
Remote Monitoring for Your Generator
Generac Mobile Link puts your generator's operating status, maintenance schedule and history on your smartphone, tablet or computer, and sends an alert with the specific fault code the moment something needs attention, to your phone or email, so our technicians know what is wrong before they arrive.
Generator monitoring is included for the full term of a Platinum membership, or you can add a device on its own. See remote monitoring options.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Generator Maintenance
How often should my generator be serviced?
Every year. Annual maintenance keeps manufacturer and dealer warranties active, extends the life of your standby generator and finds potential problems early, before they turn into expensive repairs.
What’s included in an annual maintenance service?
Our technician inspects the fuel, coolant, lubrication, air and starting systems, changes the oil and filters, checks the battery, charger and alternator, then tests the transfer switch and runs the full system to confirm it is ready.
What does a service membership cost?
Midwest publishes three memberships: Gold at $1,689, Platinum at $1,989 and Premium Plus at $2,289. Platinum, the most popular, is prepaid for three years and includes generator monitoring for the full term and a battery replacement in the third year. Every membership puts your generator on our maintenance scheduling route.
Do you maintain generators from other brands?
Yes. Generac is our primary brand, we also install Kohler, Winco, Cummins and Briggs & Stratton, and our factory-trained technicians maintain and repair standby generators from the other major manufacturers as well.
Does a service membership keep my warranty active?
Yes. A Midwest service membership has our own technicians perform the annual maintenance the Power Plus Warranty requires, keeping your coverage valid and your investment protected.
Do you handle warranty claims?
Yes. Warranty service is handled in-house by the Midwest team that installed your generator, never passed to a third party, and with no third-party approval process: if the part is on the service vehicle, it is fixed on the spot.
