FAQs

Winco Generator Questions

Where are Winco generators made?

Winco builds its generators in Le Center, Minnesota. Its lines cover home and commercial standby, prime power and tractor-driven farm generators.

What are the differences between Winco and Generac generators?

Both build automatic standby generators that run on natural gas or propane. Winco’s range leans toward commercial, prime power and farm use, while Generac’s Guardian Series is built around the home. On new Generac air-cooled installations, Midwest adds the 12-Year Power Plus Warranty; a Winco carries Winco’s own warranty. Generac is the brand we lead with, and our Master Electricians recommend the right fit at your free estimate.

What size Winco generator do I need?

Air-cooled PSS standby units run from about 8kW to 20kW for a home’s circuits, and Winco’s commercial models go far higher. We size yours from what you need running, at a free estimate.

Can a Winco PTO generator back up a farm?

Winco designs its PTO generators mainly as farm standby power, driven by a tractor’s power take-off. A rough guide is two tractor horsepower for every kilowatt of output, so a tractor with more PTO horsepower can carry a bigger generator.

Does Midwest service Winco generators it did not install?

Yes. If someone else installed your unit, we still take the call: we service Winco along with Generac, Kohler, Cummins and Briggs & Stratton.
